The combined Childhood Education/Students with Disabilities program equips the newcomer to the field of education with the tools, skills, knowledge and resources for providing effective instruction to children in grades 1 through 6. The coursework provides career changers who do not have formal education in teaching with an opportunity to discover strategies for differentiating instruction for all learners, including those with special needs, in both general and special education environments. No prior certification is required for entrance into the CE/SWD program. Satisfactory completion of the program leads to recommendation for initial certification in both general and special childhood education. This is a 45 credit program.
